Tetris Effect

Ever wanted a trippier version of Tetris? Resonair’s Tetris Effect is it, and publisher Enhance Games recently announced a release date of November 9th. Along with releasing for PS4, it will also support PlayStation VR for that additional bit of weirdness.

What makes Tetris Effect special? Well, it’s from Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the producer behind Rez and Lumines. As a result, music plays a big part in the experience, with each move affecting the audio significantly. A new Zone system has also been added to stop time or garner more line clears.

Over 30 stages, each with their unique styles and music, and modes like Marathon, Sprint, and Ultra will be include,d along with some more new modes. There will also be a grading and levelling system to accompany a variable difficulty curve.

Considering the pedigree of the talent involved, we can’t wait for how Tetris Effect plays. Perhaps if it does well enough, it may come to PC like Rez Infinite? We can only hope.
