While 11 bit studios’ sci-fi survival title The Alters still doesn’t have a definite release date, a demo is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. The first demo was originally PC-exclusive, but now all platforms can watch Jan Dolski collide with his various alternate selves. What happens when things get too heated? The premise involves Jan being stuck on a planet and operating a moving base to evade a killer sun. His only recourse is to use a mysterious material and create Alters of himself – versions of Jan that took different decisions in life. This means creating Jans with specialized skills, like botanists, technicians, doctors, and even a shrink.
You’ll need to manage their emotions, especially when they’re overcome by frustration and lash out against each other. Someone may even end up losing a limb, intentionally or otherwise.
