RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE
Resident Evil has been on an absolute roll since 2017, and 2021 saw the series recording yet another massive win. Combining the first person perspective of Resident Evil 7 with action elements and other mechanics and ideas from Resident Evil 4, Village has delivered one of the series’ freshest and most unique outings to date. This carnival of horrors is full of variety, thrilling combat, excellent level design, memorable scares, and the kind of forward momentum for the series’ overarching narrative that hasn’t been seen in a Resident Evil game in a long, long time. As a culmination of everything the series has been good at in the past, Resident Evil Village feels like a celebration of Capcom’s survival horror franchise.
