VALHEIM
Valheim is still in early access, which means the game is only going to get better (if things go to plan, at least)- but even so, it’s easily one of the biggest surprises of 2021. That is true for its world as well. Of course, given the fact that the game uses procedural generation to craft its maps, it doesn’t stand toe-to-toe with the best handcrafted worlds out there, but in spite of that, Valheim’s (decently sized) maps are always a blast to explore- especially if you’re doing it with friends.
