Developer Unknown Worlds Entertainment crafted one of the most hypnotically beautiful worlds you’ll ever see in a game with the first Subnautica, so it didn’t come as a surprise when, earlier this year, Subnautica: Below Zero ended up doing the same. In fact, it may very well even have surpassed its predecessor. Exploring the depths of an unknown, alien ocean remained as compelling and breathtaking as ever, with no shortage of evocative sights and sounds scattered throughout the map, while being able to go up to the surface added a whole new layer to the experience (quite literally).
