Following the reveal of The Callisto Protocol’s Season Pass content yesterday, director Glen A. Schofield has clarified its development. He tweeted that the developer isn’t “holding anything back from the main game for the season pass.”
“We haven’t even started work on this content yet. It’s all new stuff that we’ll be working on in the new year. Fans have asked for EVEN MORE deaths, so we’re making it a priority next year.” It’s unknown if this means some death animations will be provided free for all players. Time will tell.
Currently available only in the $80 Digital Deluxe Edition ($90 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S), the Season Pass includes new skins, death animations for Jacob and enemies, and the new Contagion difficulty, which features less health and ammo drops, and permadeath. There’s also the new Riot mode, where players battle waves of enemies and earn credits to upgrade or craft weapons. Story DLC is also in the works, though further details have yet to be revealed.
The Callisto Protocol is out on December 2nd for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC, having gone gold last month. For more details on the survival horror title, head here.
To be clear: We’re not holding anything back from the main game for the season pass. We haven’t even started work on this content yet. It's all new stuff that we’ll be working on in the new year. Fans have asked for EVEN MORE deaths, so we’re making it a priority next year.
