After a long wait and plenty of teases, Striking Distance Studios’ The Callisto Protocol finally received some raw gameplay. The initial trailer is the “Schofield Cut” (named after studio founder Glen Schofield), which showcases some brutal melee combat, grotesque Biophages, and much more. Check it out below.

The second gameplay trailer sees protagonist Jacob walking through a surgery room and witnessing the events leading to its massacre. This is where we see the GRP in action as it momentarily stops enemies in mid-air, allowing the player to hurl them into a wall (or a running turbine). From there, it’s all about shooting, swinging and the classic stomping of corpses. Be careful though as Jacob can get accidentally caught and brutally killed.

The Callisto Protocol is set to launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on December 2, though no cross-gen upgrades are seemingly being offered. Initially announced as a game set in the PUBG universe (about 300 years in the future), recently, director Glen Schofield confirmed that that was no longer the case, with the horror title now being set in its own universe. Along with the Standard Edition, there’s also a Digital Deluxe Edition – stay tuned for more details on its contents.
