Gotham Knights has garnered backlash lately for being locked to 30 FPS on current-gen consoles and not having a Performance Mode. In the wake of this, Striking Distance Studios has confirmed that its survival horror title The Callisto Protocol will have a 60 FPS Performance mode at launch.

As such, it’s not a fair comparison since The Callisto Protocol is a linear title (with different routes, but still), while Gotham Knights is an open-world game with co-op support. It could just be the developer riding the wave of controversy to garner attention. There are still several unknown factors, though.

What will the resolution be in Performance Mode? What is the resolution and frame rate for previous-gen console versions. Time will tell, so we’ll need to wait for more details.

The Callisto Protocol launches on December 2nd for Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It’s estimated to be 12 to 14 hours long and features numerous death animations.
