The Dark Pictures The Devil in Me

With The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes now available, Supermassive Games is gearing up for the season finale of the series with The Devil in Me. Confirmed via a teaser trailer in House of Ashes, the developer and publisher Bandai Namco have since released the official version along with providing story details.

Instead of leaning into the supernatural, The Devil in Me is more grounded. It sees a crew of documentary filmmarkers venturing to a replica of H.H. Holmes’ infamous “murder castle” after receiving a strange invitation. Holmes was the first serial killer that America ever witnessed and soon, someone begins hounding the crew. They’re forced to partake in gruesome challenges to survive while being monitored by a “twisted host.”

Like previous entries in the series, you’ll make decisions to influence the fate of the main cast. Whether a few live to see the light of day or everyone dies is ultimately up to players. A release date and platforms have yet to be announced but this is set to be “the anthology’s most bloodcurdling story yet.” Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
