The White House often has people communicating on the radio, coordinating projects and generally trying to get things under control. On the second floor, you’ll hear someone on the radio near the Projects table who says “CQ, CQ, this is W9GFO, hard copy?” Interestingly, as a Redditor pointed out, this is a reference to Jodie Foster’s character Elenor Arroway from the movie Contact. Arroway used a similar radio and the call sign “W9GFO” in the movie.
