The Division 2 Gets Harrowing Trailer and Gameplay Footage at Microsoft’s Show

I suppose it actually looks pretty cool.

Tom Clancy's The Division 2

Ubisoft’s The Division 2 was finally shown off at Microsoft’s E3 show. We got a harrowing trailer talking about the impending collapse of America, as the country falls into a state of disrepair, and people have to fight the environment, and each other to survive, before we jumped into seeing some gameplay footage. The trailer also seemed to confirm a Washington D.C. setting.

The game looks great, which makes sense- Snowpoint is a great engine, and the original Division was a looker too. The gameplay footage seemed pretty standard fare, showing some looting and co-op questing, including side missions, and the same kind of UI that the original game had. The game seems to be building on the improvements that the original game received over three years after its disappointing launch, rather than throwing it all out the window- take notes Bungie.

If you’re a fan of the genre, I suppose you will like what you see here. I’m not old on the genre myself outside of Monster Hunter World, so this didn’t do much for me personally, but it at least seems pretty well made.
