After the private beta for The Division 2 shut down, Ubisoft promptly announced that an open beta for the game would also be going live in March. If you’re thinking about jumping from the private beta straight into the upcoming open one, you should know that any progress that you made in the former won’t be carried over.
Responding to a question about the same on Twitter, Ubisoft Massive’s Yannick Banchereau, live content manager for The Division 2, confirmed that any progress made in the private beta would not be carried over into the open beta a couple of weeks from now, and that players would instead have to start from scratch. Assuming that the content included in both betas is probably going to be the same, it makes sense that progress wouldn’t be carried over, so as to provide a more level playing field for those jump jumping in now and didn’t have access to the private beta.
We got a chance to test said beta last week, and we came away impressed with the improvements Ubisoft are making to the upcoming looter shooter over its predecessor. Read our impressions through here. The Division 2’s open beta goes live on March 1st, and will run until March 4th. The game itself launches just a few days later on March 15th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
No, you'll have to start over again
