Even with numerous glitches and bugs following post-launch content, Tom Clancy’s The Division has been an unprecedented success for Ubisoft. It had the biggest launch for a new IP in history and ranks pretty highly in sales charts even now. With Ubisoft pursuing its Assassin’s Creed film, it appears that The Division may be next for a celluloid adaptation.

According to sources that spoke to Variety, the movie is already in the work and actor Jake Gyllenhaal is slated to star in the same. He’s also a producer for the project and right now the studio is seeking a writer before moving forward. Ubisoft didn’t comment on these reports.

Gyllenhaal has previous experience with Ubisoft films having starred in the terrible adaptation of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time in 2010. If The Division film is indeed in development, one hopes it doesn’t take nearly as long as Assassin’s Creed or even Splinter Cell to finally release.
