The Division

Update 1.2 aka Conflict for Tom Clancy’s The Division isn’t just about adding a new Incursion, Gear Sets and rope cutting griefing techniques. It will also bring a range of fixes and quality of life improvements to the overall game.

Once such improvement is a nerf to the damage caused by level 34 enemies, especially in the Challenging Mode for the Falcon Lost Incursion. In its recent State of the Game, the developer stated that, “We are adjusting the damage output for the level 34 variants of these NPC types. Their damage was too high due to the difference in level between the player and the NPC, making tank stats less rewarding. We are reducing the damage they do to allow for players who focus on tanking stats to have a more effective role.”

It also took notice of various criticisms against the current state of Scavenging. “The effectiveness of scavenging has been a long discussion within the community. With the changes made to loot in 1.1 the benefits have diminished slightly. This is something we are aware of and are working on to improve in update 1.2.” Expect the quality of loot discovered to increase in turn.

Finally, will players ever see an increase in stash size? Massive’s Yannick Banchereau noted on Reddit that, “I’ve seen that this has been a recurring question since we announced the loot changes with Update 1.2. The short answer is: we are working on increasing Stash size, but it won’t be coming with Update 1.2. We are looking at adding it with the following game update, but I can’t confirm this yet.”

Of course, for all the above changes that are coming with update 1.2, we’ll need to wait and see just how effective they’ll actually be. Stay tuned for more details when May 24th comes around.
