The First 15 Minutes of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on Xbox 360 look Very Dark

Literally.

You know, I raised the brightness levels of my monitor to the max. I switched off all the lights in the room so there’d be no distracting ambient light. I tried everything I could, but there’s simply no getting around the fact that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on the Xbox 360 is too frigging dark. Like, darker than it has any business being as a Spider-Man game. We’re talking Batman dark, except in Batman, you can actually see what you are doing.

Sorry to rant about that, but it made it really difficult for me to quite enjoy the 15 minutes of gameplay of the Xbox 360 version of the game that were posted today. They look okay. Not too shabby, but nothing special either. There are a ton of graphical issues, and the gameplay itself looks unremarkable. It’s not the kind of game you’d spend $60 on, but it’s not the most obnoxious movie tie in game either.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 launches soon on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, PC, and Nintendo 3DS. No version is planned for PS Vita, and a planned Xbox One version was inexplicably cancelled last week.
