The Forest Finally Heading to PS4 in 2018

The indie survival horror title is finally coming to PS4 despite delays.

The Forest

Remember The Forest, an open world survival horror title that was about survival and crafting while exploring a mysterious island? Developed by Endnight Games Ltd, the game is still available on Steam Early Access and was pegged for release on PS4 as far back as 2015.

That didn’t happen of course but a new trailer from PlayStation Experience 2017 indicates that it’s finally coming to the console in 2018. Along with the ability to play solo, there will be some co-op elements in the game as indicated by the trailer.

Other than that, you can expect the same mechanics as before. Chop up some trees, create weapons, establish a base camp and more importantly try to stay alive amidst ravenous hordes of island denizens. You can even chop up bodies and create effigies because why not join the madness yourself?

The Forest will release on PC next year as well so this is good news for Early Access players as well.
