Endnight Games’ The Forest has been confirmed to be releasing on the PlayStation 4 in 2015. For those unaware, The Forest is equal parts crafting and resource management along with survival horror and surreal thriller. Check out the announcement trailer above and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

The Forest sees you playing as a father, who’s plane crashes on a mysterious island. He appears to be the only survivor but a mysterious cult of sorts kidnaps his son after the crash. From here, you’ll need to gather resources, build your own weapons and explore the world as you struggle to survive against this group of creatures/individuals/WTFeries.

Having already been available on Steam Early Access for the past year or so, the announcement of The Forest for PS4 does provide some indication as to a final release next year. Stay tuned for more information on the same along with other announcements from PlayStation Experience.
