We’re a little over a week away from this year’s The Game Awards, and as excitement surrounding the showcase continues to build, new details on it are beginning to emerge.

In a recent live Q&A, for instance, producer and host Geoff Keighley was asked about how long this year’s show will be and what amount of reveals and game trailers we can expect to see, and though he was reluctant to give specific numbers, he said that, on both fronts, the event will be in line with last year’s showcase.

“I don’t know [if there will be the same amount],” Keighley said when asked if The Game Awards 2023 will have the same amount of reveals and showcases as last year’s event (transcription via VGC). “I haven’t counted, honestly. I think around the same, but I don’t know.”

Speaking about the show’s runtime, Keighley said, “I don’t want to quote a number, because then it’s going to reverberate on the internet… but it’s probably similar to past years in terms of the length of the show and content.

“We went a little bit shorter last year, or we tried to, but then Chris Judge took his sweet time with his speech. It’s probably going to be similar to last year with a little bit shorter show.”

The Game Awards are set for December 7, and a few announcements that will be made at the show have already been confirmed, including Baldur’s Gate 3’s Xbox Series X/S release dateWarframe’s next major update, and Crash Team Rumble’s next season of post-launch content, while the reveal of Inscryption developer Daniel Mullins’ next game is also seemingly being teased.

Death Stranding 2 has also been teased, while rumours have claimed that Microsoft also has something planned for the show.
