The Game Awards 2024

Say what you will about The Game Awards, but this year’s show is arguably its strongest showing in a while. It’s also the most viewed to date, with creator and host Geoff Keighley confirming 154 million global livestreams on Twitter, making this the most-watched iteration of the show ever.

StreamCharts also noted a combined concurrent viewer count of over four million across all platforms. Compare this to The Game Awards 2023, which had 118 million global livestreams and 2.17 million concurrent viewers throughout all media platforms.

The show featured major announcements like The Witcher 4, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a sequel to Okami, Elden Ring: Nightreign, Split Fiction, and more. The biggest winners included Astro Bot (which won Game of the Year), Balatro, and Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Shortly after the show wrapped, Keighley confirmed that The Game Awards would return on December 11th, 2025, live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California.
