The King of Fighters 15

While SNK is gearing up to open up the floodgates for players to duke it out in The King of Fighters 15, players and fans of the series have been vocal about their favourite characters not making the initial launch roster. It seems that the development team behind the game has been taking note of it, as The King of Fighters 15 producer Yasayuki Oda confirms that SNK is reviewing the character requests from the fanbase, and favorites like Kim Kaphwan are being taken into consideration.

In an interview with the Korean site khgames (via MP1st), Oda said that the team has been looking into various character requests from the player base for characters like Kim Kaphwan to be added into the game. Oda did confirm that although the roster for the first year has been finalized (with several DLC characters already having been revealed), additional characterswill be determined in the future.

He said: “We will review requests for various characters including Kim during the planning process. As Kim is a highly popular character, we will do our best to make it a reality. Currently, the roster for the 1st year has been finalized, additional characters will be determined later.”

It makes sense when players are requesting the addition of their favorite characters, especially those that have been staples in the series. The upcoming fighting game is, after all, continuing a long-running story, so most characters returning are mostly related to the main storyline- but fans might still get to see others making appearances down the line.

The King of Fighters 15 is slated to launch for PC and consoles on February 17.
