The Last Campfire

Hello Games’ The Last Campfire received a little over four and a half minutes of new gameplay during Inside Xbox with lead designer Steven Burgess talking about the design and setting. The story-telling was also aptly on display with soothing narration over protagonist Ember exploring the environment. Check it out below.

Ember is lost, essentially, and must find their way home. This means exploring ruins, meeting and helping different characters, and solving puzzles. Ember’s purpose seems to be lighting the “last campfire” and despite the charming aesthetic, Burgess notes that there is an underlying darkness in the tone.

The Last Campfire releases this Summer and will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months. In the meantime, Hello Games continues to update its space exploration title No Man’s Sky with an Exo Mech recently being added.
