The Last Guardian Will Be Shown Off At E3 This Year, The Guardian Claims

Personally, I think The Guardian would be a pretty good authority on The Last Guardian.

The Last Guardian

Sony’s The Last Guardian has become sort of a running joke at this point, the punchline for any other story someone wants to make about games that are endlessly delayed. Though there are still some crazy people holding out in the hope of the game eventually materializing one day, those of us who are sane and rational have long since given up hope, and basically resigned ourselves to The Last Guardian never being a thing.

Except we may have been wrong, and the crazies who held out in hope may have been right. According to popular news outlet The Guardian, it has it on “very good authority that this will be the year that Team Ico finally presents its follow-up to much loved classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.”

Of course, there are some things to remember- firstly, there have been dozens of leaks and rumors about The Last Guardian showing up at E3s, TGSs, Gamescoms, PlayStation Experiences, what have you, before, and they have all been for nothing, so there is no reason to believe that this time might be any different. But that said, Sony has insisted that it is working on the game, and that it will reveal it when it is near release- given that, and with over five years of active development time now, is it too unreasonable to suppose that, say, a PS4 exclusive The Last Guardian might be announced at E3 this year after all?

We don’t know yet, but we will in a matter of a week. It’s gonna be an exciting time. Stay tuned to GamingBolt.
