Long-awaited and oft-delayed, The Last Guardian will finally be releasing in December for the PS4. It will also support PS4 Pro and according to Eurogamer, the patch promising support arrives in December.
Among other features, the PS4 Pro will enable 4K upscaling. Other enhancements are unconfirmed though they were described as “minor” overall. Of the many PS4 exclusives in Sony’s roster, it’s a little surprising to see only minimal improvements with PS4 Pro but the company probably doesn’t want to push the release date any further.
High dynamic range lighting or HDR is confirmed for all PS4 platforms though so that’s a plus.
The Last Guardian has been in development since 2007 and originally meant to launch on the PS3. Numerous delays pushed the launch all the way into the PS4 Pro era. Will it be worth the wait after nearly a decade? We’ll find out when it releases on December 6th in North America, December 7th in Europe and December 9th in the UK.
