The Last of Us Director on Project Morpheus: “You Can Make the Ultimate Horror Game”

Despite its relative newness and age, Sony’s Project Morpheus has tons of potential for gameplay. We’ve already seen some rather interesting demonstrations featuring games like The Deep and Castle, not to mention the potential for a game like Thief. But what do AAA developers think about Sony’s VR headset?

Naughty Dog director and writer Neil Druckmann, who worked on the critically acclaimed The Last of Us, offered his thoughts about the tech on Twitter. “Spent downtime at the airport brainstorming #ProjectMorpheus ideas with @bruce_straley. Conclusion, you can make the ultimate horror game.”

The prime differences between Morpheus and Oculus Rift are that the former could very well support eye-tracking in the near future – which allows you to control a game using your eyes – along with a PS Move and PS Eye. As for what Naughty Dog has in mind, there’s no doubt we’ll see a horror game as well. Whether it’s from The Last of Us developer or not remains to be seen.
