The Last of Us: Part 2 Apparently Has High Quality Motion Capture For… Pigs?

Either that, or Naughty Dog just really likes pigs.

If there is one thing that really grinds my gears, it is games with unrealistic looking pigs. I have always said, if you are going to bother having pigs in your games, they better look realistic, or you might as well not have them at all. And I’m not the only one who feels this way, too- we are a silent minority who have for far too long put up with substandard pigs in our games. There are dozens of us, dozens I tell you.

It looks like Naughty Dog has heeded our complaints, too. Because if these tweets by The Last of Us Director Neil Druckmann and writer Halley Gross are any indication, then it looks like the game is motion capturing pigs- yes sir, motion captured pigs will lead to higher quality pigs in my games. Especially given how great Naughty Dog’s motion capture process is.

The Last of Us: Part 2 will launch exclusively on the PS4 in the future (no date is known as of right now). Given that it will have realistic looking pigs now, I personally am far more hyped for the follow up to one of the best games of all time than I otherwise would have been.
