The Last of Us Part 2 Is A Story of Hate, Players Will Play As Ellie

Creative Director Neil Druckmann on what The Last of Us 2 is about.

During a panel at PlayStation Experience, Naughty Dog’s Creative Director Neil Druckmann has confirmed that players will be playing as Ellie in the The Last of Us sequel, The Last of Us Part 2. He also revealed that this time around the story will be about “hate”, a kind of a counter-opposite to the first game.

The first game was about building this father-daughter love relationship between the two however the sequel will be the implementing an opposite theme. Druckmann also revealed that the game is set a few years after the first game, and Ellie will be 19 years old.

The Last of Us Part 2 is a PlayStation 4 exclusive. The game has no release date but it’s safe to assume that it will be coming sometime in 2018. For more on the game check out the teaser footage below.
