If you’re awaiting the launch of The Last of Us Part 2, be careful what videos, forums, or tweets you peruse. It seems massive spoilers from the upcoming video game – including late-game spoilers – have leaked online and are doing the rounds on social media. For obvious reasons, we won’t be posting or linking to them here.
Many would argue that this was an inevitability, and not just because the Naughty Dog title is one of the most highly anticipated video game releases in years. The Last of Us Part 2 was originally due out in May before being delayed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but even so, Naughty Dog confirmed that the game’s development had essentially wrapped up. Leaks of spoilers must have been something that they would have wanted to avoid, but seeing as the game is finished, the leaks aren’t too surprising.
Hopefully, both Naughty Dog and Sony are putting their heads together and figuring out a way to get the game out as quickly as possible. Some time back, they suggested that they hadn’t completely ruled out an early digital release for the action-adventure title- perhaps that’s something they might be giving more thought to now.
