With Ghost of Tsushima out of the way, the next big first-party single-player PlayStation game headed to PC is God of War Ragnarok, though as you may imagine, it’s not the only one that Sony has in the pipeline. In fact, according to a prominent and usually reliable leaker, The Last of Us Part 2 has been ready for release on the platform for some time now.

In a report published on Dealabs, leaker billbil-kun has claimed that a PC port of The Last of Us Part 2 has been ready for several months. As per the leaker, work on a PC version of the acclaimed action-adventure title began as far back as 2021, and has been wrapped up since November of last year.

Why Sony has chosen to hold back the game’s PC release is anyone’s guess – especially since The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered’s PS5 launch earlier this year would have been the perfect opportunity to also bring the game to PC – but presumably the company is holding on to the game’s PC port in order to align its release with the premiere of HBO’s second season of The Last of Us next year.

Of course, the extra time is also likely to help Naughty Dog ensure that the PC version is up to scratch. The Last of Us Part 1 launched for PC in 2022 and was roundly criticized for the rough technical state it launched in, though Naughty Dog has stressed a couple of times that it intends to focus more on PC development going forward, so hopefully that’ll yield results.

The Last of Us Part 2 is available on PS5 and PS4. Read our review of the original version through here, and the remaster through here.
