Ishtar Games’ rogue-lite strategy RPG The Last Spell is coming to PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch in Q1 2023. It entered Steam Early Access for PC last year, and its console release will coincide with its 1.0 update. Check out the trailer below to see the game in action.
The Last Spell is about protecting a magic circle called the Haven from swarms of monsters. You’ll start with different units and upgrade them throughout several waves. There’s extensive customization, from new abilities and perks to better weapons and gear. Enemies attack in significant numbers, so tactics and different fortifications are necessary for survival.
Of course, if you fail, you can unlock different upgrades to provide an advantage in future runs. The latest big update, Master of Omens, recently added Omens that provide various effects, providing more strategic options before each run. You can set a specific number of Omens based on the map, but there’s also a new Boundless Mode for equipping any Omens, including some that make the game easier.
