The Lord of the Rings Gollum

Daedalic Entertainment’s The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has been delayed from its previous September 1st release date by “a few months.” The developer confirmed this in a recent tweet, stating, “Over the years, our team has been working hard to bring you a remarkable story in a breathtaking world, filled with magic and wonder.”

“We are dedicated to meeting our community’s expectations and uncovering the untold story of Gollum in a way that honors the vision of J.R.R. Tolkien. That being said, in order to deliver the best possible experience, we have decided to push the release of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum by a few months.” Daedalic will look to provide an update with the “exact timing” in the near future.

Announced in 2019 and originally slated for release in 2021, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum focuses on the titular Smeagol who travels across Middle Earth in a dark fantasy adventure. Utilizing stealth and platforming is key while exploring locations like Mordor and Mirkwood. But there are also times one must get their hands dirty.

To that end, players can either listen to the Smeagol personality and act mercifully or give in to violence by listening more to the Gollum personality. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is in development for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned for more details on its new release date in the coming months.
