The Lost Wild

Annapurna Interactive held its most recent showcase and featured a bevvy of big announcements like The Lost Wild. Developed by Great Ape Games, this first-person survival horror title is out in 2024 for PC via Steam. More importantly, it features dinosaurs. Check out the announcement trailer below.

Described as an “immersive and cinematic dinosaur game,” The Lost Wild seeks to capture the “reverence and terror” of the beasts (who are more akin to wild animals with observable habits). Players explore the prehistoric wilderness and must do their best to stay hidden and avoid detection. Running and non-lethal weaponry (including a flare gun) are also options, the latter serving to intimidate predators.

The story sees the player stranded in a strange world full of primal terrors but a voice on the radio seems to offer guidance. For the most part, you’ll need to explore various abandoned facilities and scavenge any supplies to survive while evading the dinosaurs. How did things end up this way? It’s up to you to find out. Stay tuned for more details on The Lost Wild in the coming months.
