Riot Forge’s The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story was released earlier this year but fell under the radar due to all the other big titles. Fortunately, with the Steam Autumn Sale starting tonight, a free demo is now available for PC to let you try out the action RPG before maybe picking it up.
Developed by Digital Sun of Moonlighter fame, the game is about Sylas, who breaks free from captivity in Demacia to exact revenge on the Mageseekers. While combat is top-down and hack-and-slash-heavy, Sylas can copy magic and cast it at enemies while mixing elemental attacks into combos. Exploiting weaknesses based on the enemies and bosses fought is a big part of the gameplay.
Though the controls can sometimes be awkward, The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story is a fun time, offering a decent story and sharp pixel art. It’s available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch. Head here for our review.
