One of the highlights of the Nintendo Switch lineup last year was The Messenger, the retro Ninja Gaiden inspired action platformer that soon unravelled into becoming so much more than just that. The game ended up becoming one of the indie game standouts for the year, alongside Hollow Knight, and was even felicitated at The Game Awards.
Now, more people might get to play this excellent game. While it has so far been available only for PC and Switch players, it seems like it might be coming to the PS4 soon too—because PEGI, the games rating board for Europe, has listed a PS4 version of the game, which is almost always a precursor to an official announcement.
One would assume that The Messenger, when it launches on the PS4, will have some goodies to compensate for the wait for PS4 players—platform exclusive content, maybe? Or quite possibly, it could be just the free expansion that is coming to all systems this year, which the PS4 release could coincide with. We’ll just have to wait for the official announcement to find out.
