The Order: 1886, revealed at E3 2013 at Sony’s press conference and confirmed to be exclusive to the console, is developed by SCE Santa Monica and Ready At Dawn. This will be the latter’s first original IP. However, development of the game didn’t begin for several years, even as the concept for the world was being created, due to the lack of powerful hardware.

Talking to Polygon about the development on PS4, Ready At Dawn creative director Ru Weerasuriya stated that he and his team found the experience similar to developing on PSP.

“Ultimately you don’t change your thinking when developing for one system or another. Your thinking is you maximize what is capable on the PSP or PS4 hardware. The PSP was actually very powerful.”

The Order: 1886 hasn’t been given a release date yet. Head here for more gameplay details.
