The PS4 Pro Is A Nice Console, But I Don’t Link It With Xbox One X, Says Phil Spencer

The Xbox One X is a more powerful system than the PS4 Pro- we’ve heard third parties say it, and even Sony themselves seem to agree. But what does Phil Spencer think about the One X, and how it may perform?

I was listening to my friend Jesse, the developer of ARK, and he was talking about the capability of the Xbox One X, and what is possible on the Pro,Spencer said to Gamespot. I think the PS4 Pro is a nice console, I just think it’s a different price point and capability with Xbox One X. So I don’t link them together, I agree with you that it’s our job as an industry to showcase what hardware can do, whether in the PC or console space.

“I’m really happy with the reaction the Xbox One X has got, we showcased 30 games, including Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Ghost Recon, Rocket League… from load times, to stable frame rate, to resolution, just because of the increased CPU, GPU, and memory in the box, I’m very confident games will look best on Xbox One X.”

I mean, on the whole, he is not exactly wrong- the only question now is if the PS4 Pro’s level of capability will be deemed to be good enough by the market, especially given its price, with very few choosing to spend the extra money to get the additional power the One X provides. It should be interesting to see, that is for sure.
