Frogwares has had a pretty challenging journey en route to The Sinking City 2’s launch, but after releasing 24 hours early for Premium Edition owners, it’s now available worldwide. A new launch trailer is available to celebrate, highlighting the various horrors that protagonist Calvin Rafferty will face in Arkham.

Unlike its predecessor, The Sinking City 2 leans deeper into survival horror with the over-the-shoulder shooting perspective, lower ammo count, and more evasive dodging. The Slither roams the city, reanimating bodies and attacking Calvin. Shooting their weak points is key, but make sure you stomp out the Slither afterwards, lest they reanimate another body.

Of course, many other horrors await, some within the cosmic plane, and it will take a hefty arsenal of SMGs, shotguns, and more to take them down. Between gunfights, players also pursue investigations, linking clues together to ultimately solve them and earn Dream Essence, which can be spent on Perks. You’ll also unlock extra inventory space, making it easier to store all the ammo, healing items, materials, and so on needed, and Second Chance, reviving Calvin if he falls. They’re fairly optional though, in case you want to focus on the story.

The Sinking City 2 is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. You can check out our review here, where we gave it an 8 out of 10 for its atmosphere and tight gunplay.
