Developer Nightdive Studios has announced The Thing: Remastered. The game will be coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch later this year. Check out the announcement trailer below.

Based on a classic action-horror title from 2002, The Thing: Remastered will be making use of Nightdive Studios’ proprietary KEX Engine to run on modern platforms. This also means that the game will be able to run at up to 4K resolution and 120 frames per second.

Alongside the bump in resolution and frame rate, The Thing: Remastered will also feature improvements to character models, textures, and animations, as well as more modern 3D rendering techniques for lighting and atmospheric effects.

Based on 1982’s classic movie The Thing, The Thing: Remastered takes place on a base in the frozen arctic tundra. Players are put into the shoes of Captain J.F. Blake, who must investigate the events that took place in the movie.
