The Walking Dead The Final Season

Telltale’s The Walking Dead revolutionized the graphic adventure genre back in 2012, with its deft mix of sleight of hand implying meaningful choices and divergent storytelling, and some actual compelling writing, characters, and great use of the episodic format. Every similar game since, from Telltale’s own fare to Dontnod’s Life is Strange, has followed the template The Walking Dead set all the way back then.

But that was then- and now, The Walking Dead feels quaint and almost tired. Telltale seem to recognize the need to let it go out when it is on the top of things, which is why the next, upcoming season of The Walking Dead will also be the final one. Aptly titled The Walking Dead: The Final Season, you can now see for yourself what it will be like- at least, if you are on an Xbox. The demo for the game is now available on Xbox One (though PC and PS4 versions might be announced later, too).

The Walking Dead: The Final Season launches for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on August 14.
