The Walking Dead The Final Season

Earlier today, we reported that Telltale Games will be closing down, and that a skeleton crew will remain on board for now to begin the winding down process. Telltale’s official statement confirmed the closure of the storied studio, and also said that more information on the studio’s portfolio would be coming in the next few days.

That news may not be good- citing unnamed sources from within the studio, USGamer is reporting that The Walking Dead – The Final Season may be cancelled. The skeleton crew that remains at Telltale will instead stay on board to help the studio fulfil its contractual obligations to Netflix by completing work on the Minecraft: Story Mode interactive series. If this is true, then fans of the studio and of their Walking Dead series will be heartbroken, given that the first episode of the final season, which recently debuted, was actually well received by fans.

For now, this is unconfirmed- however, fans of Telltale would do well to brace themselves for the worst at this point, unfortunately.
