Witcher 3 Hearts of Stone

Is The Witcher 3: Enhanced Edition really a thing? According to CD Projekt RED, it isn’t.

Listings for the game on European retailers SmartToys and E.Leclerc were spotted online by NeoGAF, indicating a release for current gen platforms in February. It wouldn’t have been too hard to believe since the previous two Witcher titles had Enhanced Editions.

However, GameSpot got in touch with CD Projekt RED marketing lead Michał Platkow-Gilewski who stated that, “There’s no Enhanced Edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that we are aware of. This is some kind of error that we will look into.”

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt released in May 2015 and has already had a major expansion with Hearts of Stone. The next expansion Blood & Wine is pegged to release early this year with more details to be revealed by the developer. In the meantime, go ahead and cancel that pre-order for The Witcher 3: Enhanced Edition – it won’t likely be honoured any time soon.
