The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt’s New Game+ Doesn’t Stack, Dev Getting Closer to Release

Fast travel points also will not carry over into the new mode.

CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be receiving a New Game+ as its final free DLC. This mode essentially allows players to carry over their weapons, gear, levels and recipes into a harder mode with higher level enemies. The purpose of New Game+ is to not only introduce newer challenges for experienced players but to also provide some use for the higher level loot you acquire near the end of the base game.

However, once you finish New Game+, you won’t be able to run a new playthrough with even higher level enemies. Unlike, say, Dark Souls, the New Game+ mode will not stack according to community manager Marcin Momot.

It also seems that fast travel points unlocked in normal mode won’t carry over. And as for whether the DLC will release this week or not, Momot stated that he “can’t give the date yet (we’re getting there though).”

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will also see its first major expansion in October with Hearts of Stone. Will this be compatible with New Game+? We’ll find out in the coming months.
