VM Labs NUON

Nuon DVD Player

This devil coming from VM Labs wasn’t a console per se. It was meant to act more as an added chip to your DVD Player which promised enhanced video playback and the ability to play games on your DVD Player. With all the delays and release date pushes, its talks were kept alive by the developers as they showcased sneak peeks into the development of the ‘gaming console’. And it finally came out at the outset of the new millennia.

What better way to make people cringe over their new millennia money? All those delays and poor planning meant that the moment it stepped into the market it had to face stiff competition from Sony as they rolled ut their console crusher, the Playstation 2. A poor line up of games – poor here being a mark of generosity – and nigh on none publicity, VM Labs’ creation died the moment it step dinti the market. There’s no other way to put but we were glad it happened so.
