THQ Nordic Skipping E3 2018 Due to FIFA World Cup

We're not entirely sure they're being serious right now.

Darksiders 3

THQ Nordic has quite the cavalcade of releases this year, chief among them being the long-awaited Darksiders 3 and the intriguing BioMutant. However, you shouldn’t expect to see the publisher at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. Why? Well, because of this year’s FIFA World Cup. No, seriously.

The FIFA World Cup 2018 begins on June 14th which is smack dab in the middle of E3 week. And since it takes place in Russia, the publisher said that trying to watch it in a bar “would mean a 7am beer – that’s too early, even for Austrians, let alone the Swedes.” If you’re still wondering where the rib is, we’re still not sure.

However, THQ Nordic did confirm that it would attend other events like Gamescom in Cologne, Germany and PAX West. The above mentioned games will be present along with Fade to Silence, Wreckfest and a few unannounced games. It could be that THQ Nordic doesn’t want to get lost in the crowd at E3 2018, especially with the number of games usually present.

What are your thoughts on THQ Nordic taking a rain check? Let us know in the comments.
