Sony had re-released Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy back in August. Now they’ll soon be releasing other games from the series such as Jak II, Jak 3 and JakX: Combat Racing. The platforming series are from the PS2 era and they will be upgraded to support 1080p resolutions along with Trophy feature. A trailer has also been released to go along with the launch of these PS2 classics.
The Jak and Daxter games were made by Naughty Dog and significantly added to the team’s expertise in platforming. It also contributed to the evolution of the team’s future projects such as Uncharted and The Last of Us. About the significance of the series, Sony stated, “The narrative tropes Naughty Dog explored in Jak and Daxter laid the foundation for the evolution of their highly innovative story telling. It put them on the path that led to the creation of future blockbuster franchises like Uncharted and The Last of Us.”
Jak II, Jak 3 and Jak X: Combat Racing will be released for the PS4 on December 6th. They will be sold for $15 each or can also be bought together as part of a bundle.
