Titanfall 2

EA kicked off its Play event with Titanfall 2. Despite the single-player campaign’s trailer being leaked, Respawn Entertainment showcased multiplayer footage for the game.

Along with showcasing new abilities – like grappling hooks and an interesting ability to collect enemy Pilots together and sliding – we got a look at some of the new Titan abilities. There’s a Titan with the ability to fire a single concentrated laser beam and one that can ground smash, sending shockwaves.

That’s not including the new weapons, though some familiar ones like the Carbine and CAR SMG make a return. Respawn also promised a “deep progression system” though it wasn’t showcased.

The signature killer plays – possible through wall-running and jump kicking – still seem to be present though these can now be linked with the new grappling hook for even more possibilities.

Titanfall 2 is out on October 28th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. You can head here to sign up for the multiplayer technical test which will go live before its release.
