Titanfall 2 Post-Launch Modes and Maps Will Be Free

"We're not gonna sell maps anymore."

Titanfall 2 (4)

Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall 2 will have free maps and modes after launch. This is unlike the first game which sold maps separately and offered a Season Pass for the same (though many of the modes like Frontier Defense and Marked for Death were in free updates).

Lead programmer Jon Shiring told PC Gamer during E3 that, “One of our lessons is we’re not gonna sell maps anymore. All the modes and maps coming to Titanfall 2 after release will all be free.”

It’s not hard to see Respawn mimicking games like Overwatch and Halo 5: Guardians, offering customization options like skins and such as micro-transactions. However, we expect these customization items to be unlockable in-game as well.

Titanfall 2 releases on October 28th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Along with multiplayer, it will offer an offline single-player campaign as well. What are your thoughts on the post-launch maps and modes being free? Let us know in the comments below.
