Respawn’s Titanfall 2 is receiving another major update which will add new maps, a new mode and a new way to queue for games.

In a new blog post, the developer outlined Live Fire, a 6 vs. 6 Pilots mode that is all about close combat. Winners are decided on a best of five round ruleset with each round lasting one minute and no respawns. A neutral flag has also been added to allow the team that holds it to win a round.

To facilitate this new mode, there will be two new maps exclusive to it – Stacks and Meadow. The 1 vs. 1 Coliseum mode will also receive the new Columns map.

That’s not all though. The interface will receive a revamp that simplifies all the modes into one screen and allows you to choose which ones you want to queue for. Live Fire, Private Match Beta and Coliseum will have their own dedicated playlists though. This new UI is expected to arrive on PCs before consoles to work out any kinks. Finally, new commander intros for factions and a new Pilot execution will also be added.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming update? Let us know in the comments.
