Respawn may say that they are treating Titanfall 2 as an new IP, rather than as a continuation of the hit Xbox One and PC exclusive original game, but it does sound like they will be keeping some things around from that game for this one. One of those things will be the level cap for the pilots, which will apparently be the same as it was in the original game.
“Pilot max level is 50. Max gen for Pilots is 10 at launch, and will likely increase as time goes on,” a Respawn employee said on the Titanfall 2 sub-Reddit. “Max gen for everything else is unlimited.”
Gen is, of course, Titanfall parlance for ‘prestige,’ which is what you do in Call of Duty once you hit the level cap. So on that front, at least, it doesn’t sound like players of the original game will have much new to contend with in the sequel. Titanfall 2 releases next month on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
