Titanfall 2 Operation Frontier Shield

The Xbox One X is nearly upon us, launching next week in fact, and there will be over 130 Xbox One titles enhanced for the system. Not every game will support native 4K and some others could offer advanced graphical features when downsampled to 1080p screens. Regardless, Titanfall 2 is on that list and Respawn Entertainment explored the various enhancements that players could expect.

On Xbox Wire, lead producer Drew McCoy noted that the overall ceiling for the dynamic resolution has been increased. “This means the game will always output a 4K signal, but dynamically alter the resolution based on GPU load to ensure smooth framerates.” The game will also support dynamic superscaling from the PC version to ensure 100 percent usage of the Xbox One X’s CPU.

Titanfall 2 on Xbox One X is a substantially clearer/sharper image presentation. Players will notice lots of little details in the world and it maintains the fluid 60 fps framerate needed for smooth gameplay more often so you won’ see any frame rate drops even with a bunch of 20 foot Titans battling it out at once.”

There are a lot more enhancements to keep in mind and you can view them all after the jump. Titanfall 2 will stay true to its roots and focus on a solid 60 FPS frame rate above all but it’s not the only game pursuing this. Gears of War 4 on Xbox One X will see its campaign running at 60 FPS, for instance.

The Xbox One X is launching on November 7th and will retail for $499. More coverage will be coming so stay tuned for additional details.
