Titanfall 2’s PS4 Pro Support Ships On Disc

Which makes sense, since the enhancements don't amount to anything much.

Titanfall 2 (3)

Titanfall 2 will be one of the many games that supports enhancements on Sony’s PS4 Pro console (albeit we already know by now that these enhancements won’t amount to anything special). However, PS4 owners won’t need to download any additional patch to enable the game to be played with PS4 Pro enhancements- the enhancements ship on disc. As long as you are playing Titanfall 2 on a PS4 Pro, it will automatically run enhanced.

This news comes to us courtesy of Titanfall 2 producer Drew McCoy, who confirmed on Twitter in response to a fan query that the game won’t need a patch for any of its PS4 Pro enhancements, since all of them will be on disc. This seems to lend credence to the notion that Sony has mandated PS4 Pro support for all PS4 game releases going forward- though, of course, as Titanfall 2 shows us, that support doesn’t have to be anything meaningful.

Titanfall 2 is due out on October 28 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
